Blackbaud has the ability to support single sign on with PTC Wizard.
The process enables SSO for PTC Wizard so that you can create a resource tile in Blackbaud for parents and teachers. Once a user clicks the resource tile, they will be logged into PTC Wizard without being asked for any credentials.
This process assumes that you have administrative access to your blackbaud account, and that you can log in and access the Core section of your Blackbaud account.
The setup process has several steps which will be detailed below.
Step 1
Log into Blackbaud and go to the Core environment.
Step 2
Click on the Security tab and then choose Authentication Settings.
Step 3
This step assumes that you have not set up the SSO in the past.
(If you have set up the SSO in the past, then go to the SSO Settings tab and find the SSO Setting you previously created)
Choose the "SSO Settings" tab and then click the "Add New" button
Step 4
When you add a new SSO Setting, you will be presented with a form to fill out.
"Name" Refers to the name of the SSO Setting.
It's best to name this "PTC Wizard Parent".
Every SSO Setting Name in Blackbaud, automatically populates the Slug field.
The Slug field is used by Blackbaud as the end of the URL that is used in the resource tiles.
With Blackbaud, parents can log into the "myschoolapp" website for your school and then click on resource tiles.
The slug is the last part of the URL for the resource tile.
For example: if your myschoolapp website is: https://test.myschoolapp.com/
then the parent site URL for the resource tile might be:
https://test.myschoolapp.com/app/sso/auth/ptc-wizard-parent
This is assuming that the name of the SSO setting was PTC Wizard Parent (as we demonstrated in the previous image)
If, however, we named the SSO Setting, "PTC Parent"
Then the link would be similar to:
https://test.myschoolapp.com/app/sso/auth/ptc-parent
Step 5
